A 3-Day Heatwave Is On The Way!

Now’s the time to head outside and give your BBQ a quick clean – according to the Met Office, there’s a three-day heatwave heading our way so we know you’re all going to want to sit out in the garden, Pimms and beer in hand, enjoying your favourite al fresco dining treats.

Apparently, there will be exceptionally high temperatures seen over the next few days and continuing into next week, which is great news for us all, with chief meteorologist Dan Suri saying that temperatures will reach above 30 degrees C in parts of England and Wales.

Friday (August 7th) will be the hottest day, with temperatures climbing to 36 or 37 degrees C, he continued, while similar levels may be seen on Saturday before dipping a little on Sunday. The hottest day on record for the month of August is 38.5 degrees C, recorded in Faversham on August 10th 2003.

Deputy chief meteorologist Chris Bulmber made further comments, saying: “The hot air mass will remain over much of England and Wales until early next week, so we’ll continue to see maximum temperatures in the low to mid-30s Celsius as the heatwave continues.”

Make sure you stay properly hydrated over the next couple of days and perhaps open the windows at home during the day so you’re better able to sleep at night. And make sure that you wear suncream, reapplying as and when required… otherwise you may be the one frying in the heat, instead of your sausages and steaks.
