Top Tips For An Eco-Friendly Summer BBQ

If you’re planning to make the most of as much of the sunny weather we have in the UK as possible this summer then chances are that you’ll be having a fair few BBQs in the coming weeks.

You might be looking for ways to make these outdoor cooking evenings as eco friendly as possible and we’ve got some top tips on how you can do just that.

Firstly, don’t buy disposable BBQs! Invest in a proper BBQ set up for your garden. You can arrange BBQ gas delivery in London, so you won’t even need to worry about having to go out to get the fuel for your fire.

Marie Claire also offered some advice on how you can make your BBQs a bit greener this summer, starting with trying some vegetarian options on your grill. Veggie skewers and plant-based burgers still taste delicious and reduce the carbon footprint of your meal.

If you are cooking meat, another top tip is to cut it into thin slices to speed up the time it takes to cook and to allow the meat to cook more evenly too. Closing the lid on your grill is another great way to not only cook your food more evenly, but also to conserve heat and, therefore, energy.

And if you’re using a gas BBQ, then make sure you remember to turn the gas off when it’s not in use.

GQ Magazine recently spoke to DJ BBQ (aka Christian Stevenson) to get his top tips on how to BBQ like a pro. Among them is to make sure that you only put charcoal under half of your grill and leave space for indirect heat, so if your flames become a little too intense, you can move your food out of the way and wait for them to die down.
