How to Have a Perfect Late Summer BBQ

As we enter September, we enter the last part of summer. What better way to celebrate than by having a late summer socially distanced BBQ. Few things are better than the authentic taste of food cooked on a gas BBQ grill.

However, to ensure perfectly cooked food every time, here are our top tips for a perfect BBQ in London to see out the summer

Make Sure the Heat is Turned Up

BBQs are not like standard ovens or hob surfaces and need quite a bit of time to heat up before they are ready to start cooking. If you start putting meat on the grill too early then there is a chance that it won’t cook through, which can be potentially dangerous.

Give your grill time to heat up once you have ignited the gas. In terms of gas supply, we recommend a Calor 5kg gas bottle for BBQs.

Meat Must Be Cooked Through

The biggest mistake at BBQs is not giving burgers, sausages and chicken enough time to cook completely, which can make people very ill. The reason is simply that the surfaces of meats cook a lot quicker than the middle, so food can look cooked when it isn’t.

An internal thermometer can help make sure the meat is cooked through completely, and turning the meat over repeatedly ensures an evenly cooked steak. There is a very helpful chart available at Angry BBQ to help you know what temperatures to look for, or certain meats.

Keep Food Out of the Sun

Food should be out of direct sunlight or it spoils exceptionally quickly. Try and place your BBQ and table in the shade if you can.
